verdict at evening
Today’s close still has not arrived — late in the session KOSPI stood above the previous close
Today’s index close had not arrived in the data by the time of this edition either — the second edition in a row.The intraday path, however, now runs to 15:32. Its last reading is KOSPI 6,820.02 and KOSDAQ 834.29. The previous closes were KOSPI 6,788.88 and KOSDAQ 838.41 — so KOSPI was above that level late in the session and KOSDAQ below it.That reading is not the close. The closing level is set separately in the closing auction, and it has not arrived. In after-hours trading more names fell than rose — of 606 names covered, 238 rose and 345 fell. The heavily traded large caps, though, are on the rising side.

The Nextrade snapshot is a delayed reading as of 2026-08-31 17:25. Evening Trading Principles
A window recording the trading principles to hold to on the evening of a crash day
Two editions on the same day carried different figures — not because the market moved, but because the inputs changed
Two figures differ between today’s close edition and this one. What changed matters less than why.The sentiment gauge moved from 0.443 to -0.11. But the two editions produced their readings from different components — an item present in one dropped out of the other, and an item absent before appeared. It does not mean the market moved by that much.Further, every component present — margin balances, deposit requirements, buying into falling names, volatility — carries an August 28 reference date, and the short-selling item carries August 26. Not one of them is filled with a figure from today. The crash-precursor score reads 3 today, within the alert band. The items lit are the advance-decline ratio at 2 and selling acceleration at 1 — but the first rests on a July 28 US session reading and the second on flows from August 27 and August 28. Neither was lit by data from today.Flows shifted too. KOSPI investment firms widened from -KRW 274.0bn to -KRW 795.9bn while the other four moved little. This edition’s flows come from a fallback route rather than exchange data, and they are compiled again in the evening. So the day is not summed up from this edition’s figures. Nor is it the place to pick which of the two editions’ readings is the right one.
